Program Overview
Background
GenevaTech Business School is one of the key providers of EdTech Certification series for teachers across the globe, assessing digital teaching competencies through the validated EdTech Competency Scorecard. Building upon this success, GenevaTech rolls out a progressive Diploma series in Educational Technology, creating a structured academic and professional pathway for EdTech professionals.
This Diploma series is designed as a competency-based, assessment-led progression model, wherein candidates advance through increasingly rigorous levels of skills validation, rather than through traditional course-hour accumulation alone. The series is articulated with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), ensuring international compatibility and recognition.
Program Rationale
Challenge | Diploma Series Response |
No formal advanced qualification in EdTech in the developing countries | Three-tiered Diploma structure with clear progression |
Lack of internationally recognised EdTech credentials | ECTS articulation |
Limited pathways for career advancement in digital education | Progression from Diploma to Professional Diploma to Advanced Diploma |
Absence of work-integrated learning in EdTech programs | Advanced Diploma includes fieldwork component |
Guiding Principles
- Assessment-led progression – Advancement is determined by demonstrated competency, not seat time.
- International benchmark – All qualifications are ECTS-articulated.
- Stackable credentials – Each level builds upon and adds value to the previous.
- Work-integrated learning – The Advanced Diploma incorporates practical fieldwork.
- Quality assurance – Rigorous online testing with external validation.
